and, upon my return home.

When I returned from San Francisco, arriving in Minneapolis on Tuesday, June 30th, I was greeted at the airport by none other than Brian Gollnick. I spent two relaxing days hanging out at his house with his two very hospitable roommates Grant and Peter. I played some Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64 and hung out with Brian when he wasn’t working at the co-op.
After a couple days, I went over to Shannon and Sarah’s place to eat more chocolate croissants and relax. I should mention that while in San Francisco, I saw the movie Away We Go which I enjoyed but will be satisfied with only having seen once. John Krasinski was hilarious. So, back to Minneapolis. Brian and I went to the movie Moon that I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to see. I quite enjoyed the science fiction premise even though I didn’t particularly feel like it was breaking new ground. I guess, considering it was Duncan Jones’ first film, it was impressive.
On the 4th of July, Shannon, Sarah, and I went kayaking with some friends of theirs in Stillwater, MN and then watched fireworks over the St. Croix River. I might also add I had the best cheese curds known to man as well as the best French Onion soup I could ever conceive. When all was said and done, my vacation stretched a week and a half and was a welcome break from all things scheduled.
The only real item of note, after returning from travel-fest ’09, was the Brandon Johnson / SooFoo Gamers Street Fighter IV tournament held at the Empire Mall. I beat up on a couple of girls to get 25th place (out of 40). It was a mediocre showing on my part but Brandon astounded no one by taking top prize. He’s so good at the games.

I am the least photogenic person in the world I think. I always have a ‘duh’ face in photographs.
the duh face doesn’t make you the least photogenic person in the world. it’s endearing.
Why did neither of you dress up? I see what looks to be Ryu and someone with a bandana over his face. I would definitely be Blanca.
ha. I’m pretty sure the guy with the bandana was dressed up as a train robber. I don’t know how else to explain that. There were a bunch of kids who kept doing the Ali G gangster finger snap thing, and he was one of them. The guy that looks like Ryu was just wearing a SFIV headband. Those were free and I actually did have one. They gave them out at the tournament.
