Hi, How are you?

My business cards say I'm a Graphic Designer. My work says I'm also a Front-end Web Developer. Both are true. But, generally speaking, I'm a fan of form & function (and apparently alliteration).

This After That is a little place for me to play around with HTML5 & CSS3. I may also use it in an attempt to showcase myself a bit. If you would like to throw words at me in either question or opinion form, I welcome you.

Work I’m going to call it work, even though it’s mostly just fun.

Wirth Motor Co.
Wirth Motor Co.

A good friend was out browsing the internet when he decided to see what I was up to. It turns out he liked This After That. He got a hold of me and we were soon talking about putting together a site where people could view his paintings and submit their own vehicles to be painted. Wirth Motor Co. produces vivid images that are beautiful in their simplicity and that was also the aim with the site. <a href="http://wirthmotorcompany.com">http://wirthmotorcompany.com</a> functions as a venue where the paintings are allowed to take center stage.

White Christmas

Well Christmas is over and we’re staring down the barrel of New Year’s. It’s been a wonderful holiday. I was very pleased that my beautiful girlfriend Lea was able to make it down from Minneapolis to be with me and my family. My brother made it in from Chicago with only minor weather problems. Tyler and Meagan are up from Texas and, as always, it has been great to see them.

I got many awesome gifts among which is the guitar I posted above. It is a Gibson Les Paul Studio in classic white. That gift I bought for myself. Omnitech gave all its employees color Nooks which was a welcomed surprise. I am currently reading Keith Richard’s book Life on it. Lea and my family members gave me the most personal gifts that were very well-thought-out. We played Scrabble, ate cookies and had a terrific time! Over the weekend we also managed to see True Grit which I highly recommend.

Outside of the holidays I’ve been relatively busy. I’ve got a few freelance design jobs to tinker with that I’ll gladly show off upon completion. I finished up Carnaval Brazilian Grill’s site which I’m very proud of. I have submitted this site to several CSS galleries and am already getting some excellent feedback. I also added a music sidebar to the site which I will likely use to showcase music that I’m currently enjoying.

Best wishes to all. I’m going to get back to it, -Mike
